Description
Clients value his steady counsel, disciplined approach to pricing and marketing, and his ability to navigate complex transactions with clarity and discretion. Whether representing a seller preparing to bring a home to market or guiding a buyer toward the right coastal community, Michael approaches each relationship with care, professionalism, and a long-term perspective.
Before entering residential brokerage, Michael spent more than two decades in senior leadership roles within the homebuilding industry, serving as General Counsel, Vice President of Marketing & Sales, and Director of Operations for several of New Jersey’s most respected builders. That experience continues to shape his advisory approach today, bringing together legal perspective, marketing strategy, and operational insight to help clients navigate important decisions with confidence.
A Monmouth County resident since 1987, Michael advises clients throughout the Jersey Shore’s most sought-after coastal communities, with particular insight into Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Manasquan, Wall, and Brielle. He also represents clients in Rumson, Fair Haven, Bay Head, Mantoloking, and Lavallette, guiding buyers and sellers with a nuanced understanding of each market’s character, inventory patterns, and long-term value.
Michael’s work has been recognized consistently within the industry, including inclusion in America’s Best Real Estate Professionals by RealTrends Verified (2020–2024) and the New Jersey Realtors Circle of Excellence – Platinum Award (2018, 2020–2024). He was also recognized as the top producing advisor within the Ward Wight Sotheby’s International Realty franchise in both 2022 and 2025.
In 2025, Michael closed more than $80 million in total sales volume, including over $55 million in transactions within Spring Lake alone, reflecting both the trust of his clients and his deep familiarity with this distinctive coastal market. That same year he represented the purchaser in the $25 million sale of 17 Washington Avenue in Spring Lake, the highest-priced residential transaction recorded in New Jersey since 2021.
Michael now works alongside his daughter, Moira Skea Jones, and his son, Matthew Skea, as part of The Skea Team, a multi-generational advisory group at Ward Wight Sotheby’s International Realty. Together they combine experience, data-driven strategy, and thoughtful client service to provide a well-rounded and highly personalized approach to the Jersey Shore real estate market.
While proud of these milestones, Michael remains most focused on providing thoughtful guidance, strategic advocacy, and a seamless experience for every client he serves. For him, real estate is ultimately about relationships, trust, and helping people move confidently into their next chapter along the Jersey Shore.
Clients trust Michael, not only for his experience and results, but for the care, discretion, and perspective he brings to every important real estate decision.
