The Chinitsa is a small island south of Porto Heli, at the entrance of the Argolic Gulf. On the island form two bays which serve for mooring small boats. The island in ancient times was called Alioussa, name due to the name of the nearby ancient city of Fishermen. Mentioned by Pausanias. According to one aspect of the name comes from a corruption of the ancient Alioussa (Alioussa, Chalioussa because of the CSCE, Chalitsa, Chinitsa).
