The Collefertile Estate covers 430 hectares (900 acres) in the heart of Mugello above the town of Vicchio, which was the birthplace of the Medici family, lords of Florence in the Middle Ages, and the painter Giotto.
The Collefertile Estate was originally owned by the noble Roti Michelozzi family, purchased by the current Giannotti family in 2018 after ten years of neglect and now restored, after two years of intense work on the land and buildings, to its former glory.
The property offers absolute peace and tranquility being totally private with access forbidden to any means, a very rare if not unique feature in Tuscany, the sounds that can be heard are the chirping of birds, the singing of pheasants, the blowing of the wind.
Collefertile is a hunting reserve, so only owners and their guests can hunt, also a rarity in Tuscany since in the unreserved areas hunting is free and anyone can do it even on other people's land. One can hunt pheasants and wild boars in abundance if the property loves hunting otherwise they can enjoy the wildlife in freedom.
Walks on foot, horseback or mountain bike allow to move around the property with breathtaking views both in winter and in summer that is still mild being 750mt above sea level, with a good chance of encountering pheasants, hares and deer.
