The Villa, as the small brass plaque inserted in a wall recalls, was inaugurated in 1935 after being inhabited by Cecilia, the painter daughter, who painted a lot from that house, both landscapes and glimpses of interiors with still lifes and figures. The small shield painted on the entrance is a faithful reproduction of the ancient coat of arms of a remarkable family of Genoese and Chiavari origin. The land above, in Ligurian strips, was and remains a small ancient olive grove whose efficiency could be restored in order to produce high quality oil. The house is surrounded by an area intended for a garden where, to remember the history of the family, a table with a round surface was created like those on which many centuries ago the nautical charts were placed on Genoese ships. It is made of lava stone, thus giving effect to a hypothesis that saw the Mount of Portofino as an ancient volcano with two eruptive cones, and was decorated by Studio Ernan of Albisola with the representation in the form of an ex voto of a ship significant in the history of the family. This is the Regina Elena pole ship, later Ponape, launched in Riva Trigoso in the early 1900s, famous for its speed, and on which the owner's father sailed along the long routes of Cape Horn.
