Description
DUSINO CASTLE The castle is located in the municipality of Dusino San Michele, in the province of Asti, in a strategic position as a gateway to the Monferrato Astigiano, which in June 2014 became part of the sites named World Heritage by UNESCO. Of medieval origin with the first available citations dating back to the 12th century, the Dusino castle, with renovations in the 14th and 15th centuries, was originally surrounded by several hundred meters of walls. An elegant mullioned window, decorated with terracotta and tuff elements, located on the wall of the castle facing the town, can be ascribed to these renovations. The facade is characterized by a circular turret and an elegant sundial. Nestled on the top of the hill, with a private park facing the town and a private internal garden, the castle is located 10 minutes from the Villanova d'Asti toll booth in a strategic position at the crossroads between Turin, Alba and Asti, half an hour from the center of the Piedmontese capital as well as from the two capitals of food and wine tourism that are the beating hearts of the Monferrato Astigiano and the Langhe, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Its vocation is both residential and hospitality and, due to its historical value, it is placed under the protection of the Fine Arts. The total surface area is approximately 1,200 square meters divided into several floors.
