Description
The 'Cru Bourgeois' distinction originated in the Middle Ages. At the time, the Bourgeois of Bourg, a village in Bordeaux, acquired the best land in the region and renamed the 'Crus des Bourgeois' to 'Crus Bourgeois'. Today, this classification is a guarantee of a terroir aristocracy and even of qualitative know-how that has become a symbol of luxury. The Château has existed for over two centuries, its charterhouse dates from the beginning of the 19th century and its winery was built in 1873. The terroir is a concentration of Médocaine Garonnaise gravel and the rest on a clay-limestone substrate, favoring a long and homogeneous maturation of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This arrangement favors the expression of powerful, elegant and distinguished wines. Moulis is the smallest appellation of the Médoc. Located to the west of most of the communal appellations of the Médoc, its 'continental' vineyard makes Moulis the oldest of the Médoc vineyards.
