Description
This spacious stone property peers out of a forest of pines onto the shores of the Muros and Noia estuary. Providing complete privacy and tranquility, and abundant nature, this is the perfect countryside retreat with direct access to a long sandy beach.
Set in ten thousand square metres of land, in this property you feel truly off-grid, surrounded by forest and with a beautiful beach below, and at the same time within ten minutes of Muros town centre.
A small lane takes us away from the main road to this hidden paradise, and we arrive at the side of the house where there is space for parking in addition to the garage. The home was built from traditional stone in the mid-eighties.
Through the front door, we find a tiled hallway, a kitchen/diner with access to the dining room proper with space for larger groups which has views over the beach. There are high ceilings in the passageways between the rooms which have tiled floors and traditional décor, all of which has been kept in excellent condition over the years. Being used as a summer house retreat, this property does not yet benefit from central heating. Also on this floor we find a living room, bathroom, office and one bedroom as well as the garage and wood store.
Up the stairs to the first floor, there is a living room which boasts access to an expansive terrace overlooking the coast and the beach below. A hallway provides access to the master suite with bathroom and dressing room, and there are three further bedrooms which share a bathroom.
Onto the third floor, there is another magnificent balcony which affords views over the forest to the estuary and of course the stunning beach below, accessed via another living room area. Four more bedrooms are available on this floor, these with dormer windows protruding from the roof, adding to the traditional feel of this relatively modern house.
Muros is a historic fishing town on the coast near the mouth of the Muros and Noia estuary. You have the sheltered waters a short walk from your own property, directly down to the beach, and the wilder ocean beaches, such as the well-known 7 km sands of Carnota, are a short drive away. This is a growing area of interest for property buyers, who are seeking something out-of-the-ordinary, a “real-Spain” feel, away from the busier touristic locations. Muros has all the services required and many bars, restaurants and a regular outdoor market to keep you entertained all year round.
This property would suit a family or couple looking for a quiet coastal retreat, with the possibility of doubling as a B&B operation. Alternatively, it could be completely repurposed as a hotel with enough rooms to cater for year-round tourism that is provided by one of the routes of the “Camino de Santiago” pilgrimage that winds its way along the edge of the estuary.
