Description
The building is located in the heart of the historic center of Novara di Sicilia (part of the club of "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy") in the province of Messina, a few meters from the main square.
It is among the most prestigious historic homes in Novara di Sicilia for its history and location. It is also a precious architectural jewel.
It enjoys a splendid view of the village, with the bay of Tindari and the Aeolian Islands in the background.
The building has recently been the subject of a careful restoration and conservative restoration project, which has returned it to its ancient splendor, preserving its historical and architectural value, both of the interiors and the facades. Particular attention was paid to the recovery of the frescoes in the various rooms.
The final result was the maintenance of the atmosphere of the Sicilian noble palace.
Rooms
The building is a single complex of almost rectangular shape with three elevations ft, plus a portion of mezzanine floor and a portion of attic floor, with a roof covering.
The current configuration can be traced back to the second half of the nineteenth century, with subsequent modifications that affected it at the beginning of the twentieth century.
The covered surface area is approximately sq m. 800.
The internal distribution is as follows:
- on the ground floor: the entrance, shop area and fireplace room with toilet;
- on the mezzanine floor: warehouse area, laundry room;
- on the first floor: hallway, two double bedrooms with toilet, large living room, two living rooms;
- on the second floor: hallway, three double bedrooms with toilet, three small bedrooms communicating with the adjacent double bedrooms and kitchen;
- on the attic floor: originally ancillary services to the kitchen, a small toilet, two terraces.
The building is equipped with a gas radiant plate heating system; the bedrooms are equipped with heat pumps.
All the bedrooms are frescoed, with different decorations for each. All the rooms in the living area are also frescoed.
The building was built around the year 1799.
The palace has recently been the subject of careful restoration and conservative recovery work. The intervention has restored the building to its ancient splendor, preserving its historical and architectural value, both of the interiors and the facades. Particular attention was paid to the recovery of the frescoes in the various rooms, by the artist from Messina Riccardo De Leo.
