Brief history of a famous Tuscan architecture
The building is an old farmhouse, which for its particular rural architecture, participated, with the photo by the Florentine architect Pier Niccolò Berardi, in the exhibition of the VI Triennale di Milano in 1936. Purchased by the parents of the current owners in 1966 and transformed into the Locanda Da Vestro, it was opened in 1978 and is currently used for tourist accommodation.
Location and brief description of the property
The property is located at the beginning of the town of Monticiano in a position overlooking two of the main access roads to the town, SP 73 Senese Aretina and Strada Provinciale delle Pinete, near the Biodiversity Museum, along the cycling route "Gran Tour della Val di Merse", 6 km from the Abbey of San Galgano.
The building is on two floors above ground plus a 67m2 basement warehouse. It has large areas of terracotta-paved terraces outside and an annex used as a laundry/warehouse. The property has a park of about 5000 m² with lawn, trees and a semi-underground swimming pool of about 70 m³ in volume. The ground floor intended for a restaurant with pantry, kitchen, services, reception is 370 m²; the designated part is 350 m², arranged on staggered floors with three different entrances, with 14 rooms of which 5 family rooms, 4 doubles and 5 singles for a total of 24 beds. The conditions are excellent, the kitchen is fully equipped and functioning, the internal dining room can seat 77, the very well-kept park with a shaded area for relaxation and a sunny area around the swimming pool, the external dining room paved in terracotta for lunches and dinners during the summer.
On the first floor, of about 340 square meters, the rooms with three different entrances, one external from the garden and one from the reception area.
Everything is still functioning and functional to be reopened and ready to welcome.
The structure is certainly suitable for a clientele passing through to visit places of interest very close by (San Galgano, Siena, Florence..), but also to organize meetings, weddings and receptions in general.
