Description
It seems almost incredible: you leave a fast road, travel just a few hundred meters and you find yourself in the midst of undulating hills that extend as far as the eye can see between fields and countryside...
I'm not Italian and the first few times I was left speechless when I discovered these landscapes; even now, after years of living here, I am still fascinated by it... but it's normal, we are in Italy, where everything is wonderful! As I was saying, I left the main road that connects Porretta Terme with Bologna on one side and with Pistoia on the other, I followed a few curves (three, to be exact), then the road climbs slightly and countryside, fields and hills open up before me. It's spring, the sun is shining and nature is in full explosion around myself. The fields are a riot of fragrant and colorful flowers, the countryside is precious and with attention to detail.
The road continues. There are some scattered houses and there are also villas, all of which are built in stone. Thus I arrive at Casa dei Bombi. The name "bumblebee" is nice; here bumblebees are harmless little insects similar to chubby bees and are very important for the pollination of plants.
I park my car a little far from the house because I don't want it to appear in the photos.
Ah, I forgot to tell you that today is the day of the photo shoot.
I arrive, I ring the bell and the gate opens.
The house is gorgeous, a real "wow" effect, new and created from the structure of an old barn. It is a designer construction, created with obsessive care by a bricklayer. The owner told me that it took the bricklayer 10 years to complete it.
Mario, the bricklayer, chose to preserve all the original material of the barn: for example, the stones are the authentic ones, coming from the ancient quarries of Montovolo, a very valuable and now rare type of rock.
Furthermore, Mario opted for natural materials in the construction: lime mixed with cocciopesto, new oak wood and ancient chestnut, stone, iron with large inserts and glass surfaces.
The roof was made entirely of wood, finished with marine plywood, and the external tiles are ancient and original. All the gutters and downpipes are made of copper, as are all the external ducts.
The house is a jewel of rare beauty, large and comfortable, perfect for life in the mountains. There's also a swimming pool! (the water is colored with photoshop, I will return to photograph it when operational).
The house has a beautiful entrance porch, a double living room with fireplace and stove, a spacious and welcoming kitchen and two splendid glass verandas that act as lounges openable.
