Description
The “Jewel of Seaview” is an elegant example of “Picturesque”. A design movement that combines the pictorial value and importance of creative architecture and the charm of a rustic landscape. Built in 1888 it’s extensive use of old growth redwood and cedar on the interior and a variety of shingle styles on the exterior , along with a viewing turret, many doors leading to enjoying the ocean air, rustic views and garden, propelled it to become a National Historic Landmark. In 1988 it began a true restoration as the current owners reclaimed the falling treasure by recreating the foundation, the plumbing, electrical and heat, and exterior while still maintaining the historic structure and design. The home is sold with original antique furniture.
