Description
Herewith we may offer you this truly unique listed family house called ‘t Loen’.
This special and very spacious (292m2) family house was professionally restored on behalf of the current owner and always maintained with a lot of passion and love so that the next owner can continue the privilege of occupancy/ownership. Finally, ‘we humans’ as owners are but ‘passers-by’ in this impressive monumental residence! For centuries, people have lived here in a great, strategic location between the cities of Amsterdam and Utrecht.
Opposite the medieval castle ‘Loenersloot’ in beautiful surroundings situated on the river Angstel lies this 17th century (the foundations date back to the early 12th century!), special, historical national monument, a so-called Krukhuisboerderij.
This monument called ‘t Loen (which means habitable place) has a very special and characteristic appearance due to the partially thatched and tiled roof, the beautiful facades with restored wall anchors, exterior shutters and the different styles of the front and rear house. This comfortable family home stands on a spacious plot of 796 m2 of own land and has a beautifully landscaped front and rear garden. There is also a large outbuilding on the plot which could perfectly serve as a garage/office/work space or as a detached guesthouse. The outbuilding is fully equipped, has its own bathroom, two toilets, a spacious indoor garage and is very well insulated. It can be used completely separately from the main house due to its own central heating boiler and entrance, perfect for e.g. aupair/personal home care and/or lodgers. In front of the house are four beautiful, old linden trees behind which is a beautiful front door with carved window in skylight that gives you access to this unique property.
Layout: Super cozy hall with underfloor heating and old tiles, entrance to the beautiful and especially ‘old and authentic’ vaulted cellar with candle niches and small windows for daylight and fresh air entry which was totally restored to its foundations in 2017. This beautiful room is now equipped with underfloor heating, custom-made cupboard walls and can very well serve as a study/atelier, children's/playroom etc. Above the vaulted cellar there is an attractive up-room with fireplace and beautiful views of the medieval castle and the back garden (this up-room is accessible via a handmade staircase in the hall). At the back of the hall is a cloakroom and the toilet. Passage to the rear via authentic door. Here you enter the spacious and cosy living/dining kitchen which has French doors to the south-facing terrace, stone tiled floor with underfloor heating and built-in appliances, through a passage you enter the sitting/study room which is connected through an arch to the living room. The lovely living-dining kitchen is a comfortable and especially bright living room to enjoy family life with cosy dinners, good conversations at the kitchen table or just having breakfast with the children. The kitchen is of high quality (Bulthaup) and is sleek and modern which, in our opinion, goes well with the character of an ‘old’ monument. The living rooms have beautiful oak wide floorboards. The atmosphere in these rooms is unparalleled due to the beautiful view of the castle and its ‘leafy’ surroundings but also due to the high ceiling heights and the many windows make these two living and/or dining rooms great, bright living spaces.
Floor: Landing, 4 bedrooms each varying in size, bathroom with separate shower, bathtub and toilet, lots of storage space tucked away in handmade cupboards on the landing, all under a very beautiful and authentic roof construction.
Outbuilding (garage/storage/office): In the beautifully landscaped garden is a detached in 2003 built outbuilding with garage, this building is extremely suitable for a (private) work/study/office space, it has a ground floor with hard stone floor with underfloor heating and a passage to the garage, stairs to the first floor, this building has its own central heating system (2003).
Garden: The beautifully landscaped garden around the house gives you complete privacy and shelter. There is always a lovely sunny spot to be found in this beautiful garden. The front garden has a large lawn and is screened by beautiful, tall beech hedges and the previously described ‘old’ Linden trees give the house natural shade and thus cooling in summer. The rear garden gives you plenty of privacy and ultimate rest and relaxation with lovely seating areas, terraces, small lawn, flower beds and views of lots of greenery. There is also a possibility to put a boat in ‘De Angstel’ and to sail via the angstel to the river ‘De Vecht’ and to the Abcoudermeer which leads to the Amstel towards Amsterdam. This is a tolerated situation, no rights can be derived from this.
Surroundings: Loenersloot (former municipality of Loenen aan de Vecht now Stichtse Vecht) is a beautiful village which is located at a very short distance from major cities such as Amsterdam, Utrecht and Hilversum with important locations within easy reach such as the AMC, UMC, Schiphol and major roads. Loenersloot has a historic core with a medieval castle on the river ‘de Angstel’ with free access in the castle park in front for residents (jogging/walking), beautiful houses and estates in the vicinity. Here, over the centuries, many a person has ‘unwinded’ from all the hustle and bustle of the big cities. The villages Loenen aan de Vecht, Vreeland, Baambrugge and Abcoude are within cycling distance , here you have access to all shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, schools, and sports facilities! Loenersloot also has a very good primary school which uses the Montessori system. Only 13 min away from Amsterdam and 30 min from Utrecht, this is the ideal living environment under the ‘smoke’ of the cities in the middle of the green heart of the Netherlands.
