Description
OLD HISTORIC RESIDENCE BAGNO A RIPOLI – 3700 SQM ESTATE WITH 20,000 SQM OF LAND BAGNO A RIPOLI ESTATE, an old 14th century residence with agricultural outbuildings, a rural building and a family chapel, also known as Villa L'Antella, stands on a hill overlooking the narrow valley of the Isone stream. Thanks to its privileged position, it offers a panoramic view that extends to Ponte a Niccheri and the Rio Rimezzano valley. The architectural complex is located just 4 km from the Firenze Sud exit of the A1 motorway, 1 km from the Santa Maria Annunziata hospital, 1 km from the Ponte a Ema carabinieri barracks, 14 km from the central station and 12 km from Campo di Marte station. The villa, of significant historical interest, together with its outbuildings, was purchased by a famous engineer. The estate, once covering 240 hectares, included three villas and twenty-five farms. Equipped with modern equipment, it was transformed into an example of agricultural innovation. Since then, much of the land has been sold and the villa has been partially abandoned. Although the farm continues to operate using the outbuildings, the residential part has fallen into disuse and, in the early 1980s, was emptied of its furnishings. The main access to the villa was once through an imposing monumental gate located in front of the Ponte all'Asse, in the Alberi di Sotto area. A charming avenue lined with holm oaks led to the residence. The complex is immersed in a green landscape, surrounded by centuries-old magnolias, holm oaks and horse chestnuts, remnants of the 19th-century layout of the garden. Inside the walled enclosure are a family chapel, the caretaker's residence, a greenhouse-lemon house, a gazebo, as well as fountains and ornamental pools. The main façade of the villa stands out for its characteristic neo-medieval style, the result of nineteenth-century interventions. Exposed stone walls, a crenellated tower, chimneys and coats of arms in stone and plaster give the villa a romantic and historical appearance. The other, simpler façades show signs of subsequent extensions, with windows that mark the rhythm of the facades. The complex is divided into two areas: the master's residence, which occupies the eastern part and is spread over two levels, and the western part, which houses the agricultural annexes such as the vat room, cellars and sheds on the ground floor and in the basement. On the ground floor of the master's residence there are vaulted ceilings, a hall with a coffered ceiling, Florentine terracotta floors and portals in pietra serena. The upper floor has rooms with coffered ceilings. The easement of the aqueduct is present, and the permitted uses include: residential, tourist-receptive, management, services and functions of public interest.
