Triuggio (Triugg in Brianza dialect) is an Italian municipality of approximately 8,500 inhabitants. The coat of arms of the Municipality of Triuggio tends to highlight, through a particular heraldic figure, the name of one of its ancient toponyms. According to local historians, the toponym of Triuggio appears for the first time in a document only starting from 1684. Previously, the various other Latin toponyms that named this land all seem to derive from the Latin form trejectus, as precisely in this ancient center was one of the most active transits for crossing the Lambro river. Based on this consideration, the administrators of the time decided to include the heraldic figure of the rowing boat in the coat of arms, on a blue field. It can also be added that the figure of the echelon could allude to one of the many bridges that crossed the Lambro.
