Fascinating castle located in a context of great beauty and uniqueness in the prestigious territory of the Sienese Chianti Classico, in an elevated position, it enjoys breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. Built in white stone around the year 1000, it became the property of the Barons Ricasoli from 1100, who exploited its strategic position as a fortress during the conflict between the Guelphs and Ghibellines. Today, the village is one of the best preserved examples of a fortified medieval village being mostly inhabited by local people who with great respect and affection maintain the village in excellent condition. The property extends from the borders of the village to the surrounding woods and olive groves. It includes the main building of the castle, which extends over an area of 900 m² and includes a tower overlooking the surrounding area, a deconsecrated church of approximately 250 m² used as an artist's atelier, an outbuilding of 80 m², a cellar of 190 m², a swimming pool with panoramic view of 16x8 m² and a garage of 60 m². The land extends for three hectares which include olive grove and agricultural land and there are two private entrances, one pedestrian from the village and one from the private garden of the castle with an electric gate in wrought iron. The main building is on four levels. From the main entrance, accessible from the village, you enter the main hall, connected to an ancient staircase that leads to the upper floors and the tower. On the first floor there is a large kitchen with direct access to the garden and a stone solarium. In addition, there is a small independent apartment with a kitchen-living room with fireplace, a bedroom and a bathroom. On the second floor there are three rooms, two of which have a fireplace, a library with a fireplace and a large room with an en-suite bathroom. On the third floor, there are three more bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Finally, on the fourth floor, in the tower, there is the master bedroom with access to a panoramic terrace that offers a spectacular 360-degree view of the Chianti. Outside, the garden extends for about 300 m², leading to the panoramic swimming pool, nestled between rocks and travertine. The annex, renovated in the 90s, is located between the castle and the swimming pool, and is on two levels with two large rooms with a fireplace and a bathroom each.
