Description
In a very beautiful location close to the forest and within walking distance of the cosy Bergen centre, stands this robust FREE-standing house. At the time, the house was built under the architecture of Bergen architect Bijl and designed and laid out to make it suitable for double occupancy. At the end of the 1970s, the house was adapted and from then on was occupied as a single dwelling. If desired, this adaptation can be reversed without major conversion.
The house is located in one of the most beautiful and leafy streets in Bergen; in Kerkelaan, where the street is flanked on both sides by beautiful trees, you will be embraced by tranquillity. The street has a very convenient location between the village and the Bergerbos. Museum Kranenburgh is within walking distance, as is the Van Reenenpark. To the centre of Bergen, with various shops, boutiques, terraces and restaurants, it is only a few minutes' walk.
The plot on which the house is located is beautiful. Once, this plot belonged to the adjacent Villa Dennenheuvel; the old brick entrance gate still reminds us of this. The large plot with many beautiful trees and rhododendrons all around is adjacent to the former Bello railway line, so there are no direct rear neighbours.

Layout
Ground floor / basement
The large ground floor currently has two spacious garages, accessible from the front and side of the house. The front garage has a large cupboard with central heating system. The basement also has a utility room and a spacious wine cellar with separate cupboard under the stairs. There is also an extra bedroom/study at the back of the house. A corridor leads to the living room from where you have a beautiful view of the deep back garden.
Living room/ 1st floor
A front porch provides access to both the main entrance to the house with hallway and meter cupboard, as well as the balcony and access to the kitchen. A short staircase provides access to both entrances.
On this floor is the living area with the kitchen. The kitchen, currently equipped with the original kitchen, could possibly be enlarged by adding the balcony at the front. There is also the possibility of joining the closed kitchen to the (adjacent) dining room, simply by removing a partition wall. Through the dining room, we reach the corridor that gives access to a spacious bedroom with balcony and outside stairs to the garden, and a spacious bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and a sink, and a door to the balcony.
Like the garages, the sitting area (living room) is at garden level. From the dining room, there is therefore a nice view of the back garden via the loft and the high windows. There are also nice views from the dining room via a large side window.
The sitting room (at garden level) has a fireplace and, due to the high windows, is a bright room with a door giving direct access to the back garden. Through the living room, an intermediate hallway (pantry) with fixed cupboard is accessible. Through the pantry, the study with door to the side garden is accessible. Through this study, both garages and the pantry are also accessible.
Second floor
Via the staircase we reach the landing where you have access to 4 bedrooms, 3 of which have a balcony. There are two bathrooms on this floor. The master bedroom with wide balcony is the largest and has a nice view of the back garden.
The largest bathroom is equipped with a bathtub with shower and a sink. The smaller bathroom only with shower and a sink. There is a separate toilet and storage room accessible from the landing. Another storage room is accessible via one of the bedrooms.
Attic
Two spacious storage attics, these are floored and accessible via a ladder.
Garden
The garden surrounding the house offers a lot of privacy, has beautiful trees and perennial plants such as large rhododendrons. This is an austere woodland garden where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the greenery. And every evening a concert of the many songbirds that nest in the garden.
In front of the house is a driveway that continues to the garage at the front. Also at the side of the house there is opportunity for parking several cars.
