The village itself boasts some very fine tavernas as well as along the coast serving excellent seafood. This is a very traditional little Greek village, subsisting mostly agriculture and less reliant on tourism. Ancient Kamiros is very close as well as the Valley of the Butterflies.
Accessibility: There is public transport from Rhodes town stopping at Kalavarda and neighbouring villages.
Investment potential: Since tourism is less on the west coast of the island, property prices are more attractive even for a beach front property.
