Description
We are pleased to offer for sale a magnificent castle, whose construction dates back to the time of King Arduino. The castle is located in the highest part of the town of Torre Canavese, in the majestic and historic Italian region of Piedmont. The castle comprises three floors above ground, and each floor, measuring ca. 600 m2. It is distinguished by distinctive finishes.
The castle is impressive and majestic in its dimensions. In addition to the central part of the castle, it boasts an independent villa and a partially renovated farmhouse. This covered fortress of 3000 m2 provides a stunning view of the "Canavese" area. A charming little church within the park contains the original tunic of San Giovanni Bosco.
Today, the castle, which has undergone progressive transformations and modernizations over time, is home to the "Galleria d’Antiquariato", owned by antiques dealer and art dealer Marco Datrino. His initiative resulted in a series of prestigious exhibitions, which brought notoriety to the town.
The castle is said to have been founded on an existing Romanesque tower by a son of Arduino in 998, according to legend. It appears that his second son, Guidone, resided in the castle until 1018, when he was appointed Marquis of Ivrea.
