The convent of Santa Maria D Aguiar is a monastery of the Cistercian order, classified as a monument of national interest. The property has about 22 hectares, built in Sec. XII, was the home of Benedictine monks. It has many elements of architectural and historical interest. The Monastery Inn, now a residential tourism, was rebuilt in 1997, and consists of two floors with 11 suites. Outside there are 3 other suites and two houses with 4 other bedrooms. It also has a fantastic library fully lined with wood, lush gardens close to the inn and swimming pool with changing rooms and Turkish bath.
