Description
Stone farmhouse with a unique charm, located right on the top of the hill you get to by driving along that romantic road of gentle bends surrounded by cypress trees that tourists and photographers from all over the world come to admire. We are in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, in the Lucciola Bella Nature Reserve, a Unesco World Heritage Site, in the Municipality of Pienza. It is one of the multiple farmhouses that belonged to the large estate of the Marquises Iris and Antonio Origo, where at one time the large families of sharecroppers lived. The property consists of the main farmhouse on two levels and an annex on one level. The restoration in the early 2000s gave new life to this property, leaving visible many authentic features of the old farmhouse, and it has all the typical Tuscan architectural elements, such as terracotta floors and tiles, exposed beams, solid wood fixtures and some parts of the walls left in stone.
In the main farmhouse, on the ground floor we have three apartments with independent entrances, two of which are communicating, as well as the old wood-burning oven that is fully functional. The first one presents a large living-dining room with kitchen and fireplace, a bedroom and a disabled bathroom, communicating with the adjoining apartment equipped with a large living-dining room with kitchen and fireplace, a bedroom and a bathroom. The third apartment features a large living-dining room with kitchen and fireplace, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Through the beautiful staircase with a typical Tuscan loggia, which offers incomparable views of the valley below, one enters the upper floor, which is divided into 3 more apartments with independent entrances, for a combined total of 17 beds.
The first apartment has a large living/dining room with kitchen and fireplace, two bedrooms and a bathroom; the second apartment has a storage room, hallway, one bedroom, large living/dining room with kitchen, and bathroom; the third apartment has a large living/dining area with fireplace and kitchen, hallway, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and storage room.
Next to the main house is the large annex that houses the laundry room, reception, a bathroom with shower, a professional kitchen; the large breakfast/dining room with fireplace; and the heating plant.
All around, a large garden of about 8000 sq. m. equipped with wooden tables and benches, surrounded by lavender plants, positioned on the top of the hill and completely fenced.
It is possible to relax in the shade of the large oak tree adjacent to the house, enjoy the view from the gazebo, which is useful for outdoor dining, biking or walking along the reserve trails. The land consists of a total of 70 hectares.
CONDITIONS
The complex is in perfect condition of maintenance. Currently the accommodation license is still active but it is not active the license for restaurant. Heating system by LPG-fueled convector heaters with 3 boilers. Water system connected to the municipal acqueduct.
