Description
Los Guacos Cattle Farm
Los Guacos Farm is a 148-hectare cattle farm near the town of Canas, in Guanacaste Province. This county is well known for its cattle farming, sugar cane and rice plantations, and tilapia production, given its proximity to the SENARA Irrigation System. The farm is located 55 km (45 minutes) from Liberia International Airport in Guanacaste Province, 10 km from Canas City (full-service city), and only 3 km from Inter-American Highway Route 1. The farm is used as an extensive cattle farm operation. Currently, a rustic cattle corral, fencing, and marginal maintenance for cattle farming is provided, therefore, some investments are required to efficiently function as a productive cattle farm.
The farm has great potential for an agriculture operation, as it is crossed by one of SENARA's 3-mts wide irrigation channel (the channel runs 1.5 km north to south within the farm) and the farm's eastern boundary corresponds to more than 3 km of the Corobici River, the source of the irrigation channel. Both have water all year round sourced from the Tenorio Volcano, in the Guanacaste Mountain Range. The farm setting and the Corobici River are attractive features also for a tourism and hospitality operation.
