Esporles is an original village with about 4000 inhabitants and is located in the middle of the Tramuntana mountains. Palma, Banyalbufar and Valldemosa are within easy reach. In the past the textile industry was an important economic part of the village life, nowadays it is mainly agriculture, cattle breeding and tourism. This pretty village, with its stone-clad houses and winding streets, has retained much of its original charm and leaves a lasting impression. Fruit, vegetables, crafts, textiles, plants and flowers, as well as local produce, can be found every Saturday at the popular weekly market in the centre of Esporles.
