The municipality of Quijorna is located to the east of the city of Madrid, from which it is about 40 km away, in the Guadarrama River basin area and only 539 m above sea level. It belongs to the Madrid tourism area of the Guadarrama Basin.
The municipal area is located between the Guadarrama rivers, which is to the east, and the Alberche, to the west, although the one that flows through its territory is the Perales.
Like the neighboring municipality of Brunete, which gave its name to the battle that destroyed both, Quijorna suffered enormous damage during the Civil War (1936-1939). Except for the walls of the parish church, everything was left in ruins. Almost the only evidence of the fighting is the fort that, on one of the roads outside the inhabited area, still bears witness to those unfortunate events. The town was rebuilt at the end of the war.
