Description
The reserve covers an area of 11,231.10 hectares and is fully fenced with wildlife-proof fencing. Apart from the lodges and tents, which are located at the edge of the reserve, there are no other enclosures on the property, allowing wildlife to roam freely throughout the estate.
Water is extracted from 11 installed boreholes (four electric submersible pumps, four solar pumps and three wind turbine combinations), which extract water at depths ranging from 65 to 100 metres and transport it to 16 reservoirs. This ensures a constant supply of water wherever it is needed. The water extracted on its own property is completely safe for human and animal consumption.
The reserve is connected to the national electricity grid. A large diesel engine/generator is on standby, should the need arise.
Enjoy a morning, afternoon or night drive and discover the many different animal species on the reserve, including some rare species such as the black-headed impala and the big-eared fox. Guests are accompanied by professional rangers. Together with your ranger as your guide, you will also enjoy a beautiful sunset in the middle of the reserve.
A day safari is completely different from a Night Game Drive! If you are on a game drive at night, you will see species you cannot see during the day. The rangers work with a tracker attached to the front of the vehicle and try to spot rare sights like the big-eared fox, aardwolf, vulture, hyena and black rhino.
