Description
Lucas Fox is pleased to present the exclusive Montesacro manor, a beautiful 18th century baroque building located in Cambados, Pontevedra.
The Montesacro manor was built in the San Tomé neighbourhood during the 18th century at the request of Don Diego de Zarate y Murga, who in his time was the first Marquis of Montesacro.
On its façade, we can see a large coat of arms of the Zárate and Murga family with the cross of Santiago de Compostela, the crown of the marquis and a knight's arm with a sword. Attached to the manor is the Valvanera chapel, which was also built in the 18th century and offers worship to the Virgin of Valvanera on a baroque altar.
We access the manor by climbing two sets of stairs, one on the left and the other on the right, of the architectural complex that this magnificent building forms part of. Climbing the stairs, we also reach the chapel of the Virgen de la Valvanera.
On the façade of the manor, also of baroque style, there are several details worth highlighting, such as the family-friendly coat of arms of Zárate and Murga, which is located in the upper central part of the building. The shield has a crown in the main part with a sword and on both sides of the shield you can see points located on the roof of the building.
At the beginning of the 40s of the last century, some transformations were carried out in the manor, with the aim of turning it into a residence for the elderly and which, even today, is still used for this purpose. The building was renovated and used as a residence at the express wish of its owners, who donated the manor for that purpose.
This property is ideal for investors, given the privileged location of the palace and the countless options for a variety of projects.
