Description
Contemporary architecture, this daring architect's villa of 272 m2 characterized by a set of cubes placed one on top of the other stands on a plot of 1,100 m2 in the heart of the Saint-Julien district. Designed by architects, it offers a minimalist architecture with its cantilever structure lined with cement-wood chipboard panels, surrounded by glass . In total rupture with environmental codes, it displays a raw and dynamic look, its upper block seeming imposing and light at the same time, levitating on a glazed ground floor at the East and South. The house is discovered after a double height entrance worked in clerestory, printing a play of shadow and light. On the ground floor, the huge living space benefits from window frames that completely eliminate the glass panels all the way up, following the curved design of the building. In the large room on the ground floor, the pillars completely free up the space towards the terrace. Slender, the rooms with receding and open perspectives have been designed for optimal dialogue between interior and exterior. The bearing pillars are aligned and mark the inside / outside, totally freeing up the space. The kitchen is discreetly integrated with its black elements enhanced by a very beautiful green quartzite from Brazil on the worktop. The living room revolves around a wood stove incorporating custom-made furniture in blond wood, imitating the curves of the glass of the bay windows. Outside, a concrete cap shelters a summer lounge sheltered from the sun. A canvas stretched between the house and the studio delimits the dining area. A laundry closes this level. The green-tinted staircase is lit by a glazed roof letting in light. Upstairs, the master suite bathed in light and in terracotta tones hosts a dressing room and a bathroom, and is extended by a terrace. Two children's bedrooms share a clean bathroom and also overlook the generous terrace with views of the hills and the surrounding nature. Outside, the ipé terraces host a swimming pool and are extended by the immersive garden with Mediterranean and exotic plants, giving an air of Palm Springs. An independent studio with two bedrooms as well as two closed garages complete this house designed as a global work. A marked achievement, in a green setting
