The hotel is a complex of buildings that have stood the test of time, having been built in the megalithic period from 1000 BC to 1855, with an additional building added in 2003. Declared a preserved site by the state and published in the Government Gazette, it has been restored with the utmost attention to detail by an architect-partner of the Ministry of Culture, under the strict supervision of the archaeology department of Sparta. The result is a unique blend of different levels and compositions of buildings, surrounded by stone courtyards and stone stairs, that gives the feeling of an independent village within itself.
The restoration took five years to complete and was done with the aim of preserving the original Maniatian architecture and tradition. The special building and morphological elements were revealed, making it the ultimate authentic example of Maniatic architecture. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the sea from the cove of the Diros Caves, Tainaro to the Messinian Gulf, that creates a feeling of peace and relaxation that will transport you to other times.
Today, the hotel consists of 8 4-star suites-apartments, all equipped with the most modern comforts and furnished with rare authentic antiques and details in the decoration that demonstrate that each suite-apartment has its own distinct "personality". The spirit of discreet luxury combined with the unique quality, warm hospitality immediately conquers the visitor. It started operating in August 2008 and is still operating today, with a score of 9.3 on Booking.com and ranked among the best hotels in Greece.
The hotel caters to people with a special philosophy-culture, special, important personalities (VIP). Awe is felt by every guest passing the cavernous entrance of the Megalithic suite to enter their suite. The hotel's symbol is the authentic three-story Polemopyrgos, built in 1835, that has been featured in the architecture book of Mani, especially for the battle holes-boilers, the waterfall stairs, and the unique impressive arched arches that are formed.
In 2003, we added another building with awareness towards people with special needs. We built with special care in the original style of the suite-apartment complex with all the specifications for people with special needs. All the areas of the hotel are an impressive experience that takes the visitor back in time through the antiquity and customs of the place, creating the desire to return to it again.
For hiking lovers, they will be impressed with the paths that lead to the Deros Caves or to the picturesque fishing village of "Limeni", which is 4 km from the hotel. Athens is 280 km away, Kalamata Airport is 83 km away, and Sparta is 75 km away. The total area of the hotel is 1 acre of which 670 sq.m. about 700 make up the building complex, and it can still be expanded by another 330 sq.m. up to 400 sq.m.
