Description
GM1232 - TAVOLETO (PU) - In the heart of a small village in the hinterland of Marche, not far from Pesaro and Urbino, we propose for sale the Castle of Tavoleto, of medieval origins and with typical features of the period.
The village is perched on the ridge of a hill and the Castle towers above all the buildings around giving the possibility to enjoy a 360-degree view going from the typical Marche countryside to the nearby San Marino and the sea in the distance.
Although located in the center of the village, the property is protected by high crenellated walls that guarantee high level of privacy. The property is located inland but excellently connected both to nearby Urbino and to the easily accessible Adriatic Riviera.
The entrance to the property, built around 1290 by the Malatesta family and later disputed with the Montefeltros, is through a large internal courtyard surrounded by high walls that enclose the original nucleus and later enlargements.
From the internal courtyard we access the main body, developed on 5 floors and which preserves its ancient splendor thanks to the wise restoration work carried out by the current owners, who intervened on the external walls, roofs, floors and technical systems using salvaged materials and operating very carefully without distorting the spectacular historical setting that can be found inside the Castle without, however, forgetting modern pluses such as the installation of an elevator that facilitates access to the upper floors.
As we enter, on the ground floor we find an elegant reception hall used today for banquets and ceremonies, accompanied by a large equipped kitchen.
We then find in the right wing three more halls and in the left wing a second kitchen and service rooms such as dressing rooms and bathrooms, and additional rooms yet to be completed.
The first floor is in its raw state and could be configured according to different options and needs.
On the second floor we find a large sleeping area, consisting of five suites, all equipped with private bathrooms.
Going up to the third and fourth floor we find two elegant apartments, with high ceilings with original beams and embellished with frescoes, probably private rooms of the Families who succeeded to the ownership of this beautiful Castle. On both floor levels we also find a large terrace with a sea view and a second terrace overlooking the inner courtyard of the castle.
At the top of the main body, we find the large crenellated tower that gives the structure great charm and let us enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire countryside and all the way down to the sea.
Also of great significance are the underground caves composed of numerous alleys and passages. Finally, on the perimeter walls stand three more towers, accessible both internally and from the road, where other luxury suites can be obtained.
