Description
Herdade da Adega Velha' with 66 hectares, is located in the region of Evora, integrated in one of the most famous wine demarcated regions of the whole Alentejo.
The vineyard is formed by the following grape varieties and areas:
- Roupeiro - 5.38 ha
- Trincadeira - 7.50 ha
- Fernao Pires - 3.74 ha
- Rabo de Ovelha - 3 ha
- Castrelao - 8.10 ha
- Aragonez - 0.70 ha
- Moreto - 1.35 ha
- Alfrocheiro - 0.52 ha
- Verdelho - 2.90 ha
- Gouveio - 1.68 ha
- Arinto - 5.80 ha
- Alicante Bouschet - 11.63 ha
The Roupeiro, Trincadeira, Fernao Pires, Rabo de Ovelha, Castrelao and Aragonez varieties were planted in 1996 while Moreto and Alfrocheiro date from 1997. In turn, the Verdelho and Gouveio varieties are from 2014. The Arinto and Alicante Bouschet varieties each had two distinct planting moments:
- Arinto - 3.8 ha in 2014 and 2 ha in 2021;
- Alicante Bouschet - 2.33 ha in 1996 and 9.30 ha in 2021.
The referred vineyard fills 52,3 hectares of the whole property, being that the remaining part, is constituted by 6 hectares of traditional olive grove, 2 hectares of arable crops, 1 hectare of permanent pastures. All this, supplied by two ponds with a capacity for 10,000 m3 of water. The property has electricity and great accesses.
As for Buildings, we consider: 1 dwelling house (in ruins) with 110 m2 and 1 agricultural house with 380 m2, with water, electricity and respective land registers. 1 dwelling house, type 'Chalet' also in ruins, with water, without electricity, although it exists in the proximities, being omissive in predialial terms.
The farm is crossed by the new TGV line, existing air passage (bridges) connecting the various plots.
The vineyard as a whole, with its various varieties, has an average annual grape production of 220,618 Kg (2021).
