Description
Capo d'Orlando, in Sicilian "U capu", was born as a small fishing village, today is one of the most popular centers in the north-western part of the island. The name dates back to the Norman era when it is said that the paladin Orlando stopped in these lands during a crusade in the Holy Land. According to a legend Capo d'Orlando was founded by Agatirso, son of Aeolus, King of the Winds and of the Aeolian Islands, around the year 1183 BC and was born as a sacred city devoted to the God Dionysus. In this ancient and legendary land, Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa found inspiration for his famous novel "Il Gattopardo" and the famous singer-songwriter Gino Paoli wrote one of the most famous songs "Sapore di sale". In one of its sunny hills, surrounded by trees and lemons, oranges and olive trees, stands 'Villa Laura', a romantic residence with a view towards the sea and the Aeolian Islands. The villa extends over two levels and its entrance opens into an open-space where, beyond a wall bookcase, armchairs and soft sofas stand out, placed around the red brick fireplace, thus creating a warm atmosphere, which it expands towards the dining area lit by two windows overlooking the sea. The Sicilian-style kitchen, overlooks the patio where there is a panoramic dining area surrounded by the green of the garden and the colorful colors of the flowers. At the first floor there is the sleeping area consisting of two bedrooms and a bathroom. The two terraces each adjoining the two bedrooms, respectively, complete the floor and serve the structure with a second entrance connected by an external staircase. The magnificent infinity pool blends with the blue of the infinite sky, reaching the view as far as Palermo; around it a sunbathing area allows moments of relaxation. The sale also includes the land of approx. 8000 lemon trees, orchards and olive groves with the possibility of planting in the uncovered areas. The property is surrounded by a large garden as an appurtenant courtyard and a large parking area is built in the front. The harmonious composition of the villa, its warm and comfortable colors, the scents of Sicilian citrus fruits, orange blossom and jasmine and the beauty of the landscape with its sunsets that are difficult to forget, make this residence a truly unique and special place to live with loved ones. It is 4 km from the sea, 88.8 km from Messina, 130 km from Catania airport and 143 km from Palermo airport.
