Description
Beautiful noble palace with internal garden in the historic center of Noto. The property is one of the few noble palaces in Noto that have not undergone any changes or divisions and internally retains all the historical and artistic features of the time of construction. The building was born from the merger of several adjacent buildings, transformed into a single building in the 1920s. The building belonged for many years to the mother of Prince Corrado Nicolaci di Villadorata, she had the beautiful Sala Rossa built, an elegant reception hall where they were received guests, with gilded mirrors, elegant Louis XV-style sofas upholstered in purple brocade, as well as the wallpapers and curtains. This room has the ceiling entirely decorated with a fresco depicting characters and fantastic places, the style is very reminiscent of the works of the famous painter Abbate, however the author's signature is no longer visible. The fresco was restored at the end of the 1950s, on this occasion the putti represented in the center of the room, now faded, were replaced by the beautiful window on the sky, a typical decoration present in the most beautiful rooms of the Sicilian noble palaces, an imaginary window on the blue sky of Sicily. The first floor and the noble floor of the house, the various rooms are rich in valuable elements, vaulted ceilings in reed and plaster, decorated wooden doors, antique floors (cement and majolica), coffered ceilings, stuccoes and frescoes. One of the halls is enriched by a majestic fireplace in polychrome marble, two statuettes placed inside singular niches seem to guard the entrance to the room, the floor of this room with golden lilies on a blue background, was commissioned by the noblewoman in Vietri sul Mare , like the majolica of the more famous Palazzo Nicolaci. The ground floor was originally intended for servants and services, where the warehouses, the pantry, the kitchen and the service staff's apartment were located. Subsequently, part of these rooms housed a professional studio and underwent some modernization interventions while maintaining the historic flavor of the house. The rest has remained unchanged, as evidenced by an ancient tanning, the typical wood-burning kitchen covered in white majolica that communicated with the warehouses, where the supplies of oil, flour, almonds and anything else arrived from the family properties were kept. On the ground floor there is an intimate and silent Italian garden with low flower beds and a large central palm tree, although you are in the historic center, the majesty of the building's walls make this space pleasantly quiet and reserved. The property has a total area of 750 m distributed in 24 rooms, the internal garden for exclusive use measures 110 m, the central position and the unique characteristics of this property make it ideal for any use, given the considerable size it lends itself to the construction of a luxury accommodation or a stately home of great charm.
