The dating of the decorative intervention can be deduced, as well as from technical stylistic evaluations, from the presence in the decorations of references to historical facts in which Benedetto Odescalchi was elected Pope Innocent XI in 1676. In the center of the vault of the staircase there is an eagle which, in its claws, holds a tiara with the papal keys.
