The Italian fashion entrepreneur Giancarlo Giammetti, business partner and lifelong friend of stylist Valentino, has purchased a luxurious property for a total of $18.5 million (around € 13.5 million).
Unsurprisingly, following the refurbishment of the elegant New York penthouse with the help of French interior designer Jacques Grange, the fashion magnate invited magazine Arch Digest to view the fascinating result.
After having worked together on an apartment in London, Giammetti expressed his great esteem for the designer and his love of Grange’s use of art work. Subsequently, this convinced Giammetti to work with him again in Manhattan.
Much of the décor was already in Giammetti’s previous apartment in New York, including art work by Picasso, David Hockney and Cy Twombly. All of which are beautifully displayed on the walls of the property that frame the breathtaking views.
The interior design work carried out has rendered the panoramic penthouse even more luxurious. The use of high end sofas and seating, Indian style walls and numerous sought-after valuable items complete the high-end property with a touch of true class.
Furthermore, Giammetti successfully achieved to create a sense of warmth throughout the property by means of certain details that make a great impact on the finished result. This can be noted in the choice of intense colored stone columns in the entertainment area to break up the stretch of glass looking out over Manhattan.
