The authority of the Croatian city Dubrovnik has recently approved an ambitious project that foresees the construction of a luxury residential complex. The complex is destined to become one of the most referential avant-garde structures worldwide, distinguished by prestigious villas and a golf course.
The estimated cost for this project is quite significant to say the least, the total price coming to around one billion euro.
This “tiny” detail has given rise to some controversy, above all amongst Croatian activists. However, for the moment the government seems inclined to go ahead with his decision.
Tourism in Croatia currently represents a strategic sector in which investment continues. Around 11 million people choose Croatia each year as a holiday destination.
Subsequently, the Croatian government believes that the creation of this luxury residential complex should greatly increase the status of Dubrovnik. The city has already earned the title “pearl of the Adriatic” thanks to its beautiful landscapes and the quality of services on offer.
Work is expected to begin in January 2014, the residential complex shall be set in an area close to the Srd plateau, that dominates the city of Dubrovnik. Construction is foreseen to cover over 300 hectares of land, with two golf courses, two high-end hotels, 240 villas, and 400 apartments, with the capacity to accommodate around 2,600 people.
