There are few people who can afford the luxury properties in Spain, more precisely in Catalonia. Starting with Barcelona, some of the more luxurious spots include Passeig de Gràcia, Sant Gervasi and Pedralbes.
The prices in these neighborhoods can be extremely steep. An attic in the heart of the Catalan capital in Passeig de Gràcia, surrounded by the most chic stores, can range from three to five million euro. Pedralbes, on the other hand, offers more space and a higher level of privacy. Here the more expensive properties can cost 6.5 million euro, for an average of 700 square meters, seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
In the district of Barcellona, in Esplugues de Llobreagat, you can find the main international schools and there are a high number of foreign buyers. The prices of luxury homes, however, are more reasonable in comparison to Pedralbes, and the city is extremely close to the Catalan capital.
Another area of interest in terms of real estate is the region of Maresme, where important business men reside in an enchanting space between the mountains and the beaches. In this region residencies reach an even higher rate, costing up to 14 million euro. Currently, at this price there is a 1.548 square meter home for sale in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
There are many foreigners amongst the buyers, especially Russians, who view Catalonia as an ideal spot for the purchase of a second home. Due to the crisis, prices have fallen by 25% to 30% in these luxury areas.
The city of Castelldefels has become a favorite for Barca players. Here you can find villas belonging to Leo Messi, Alexis Sanchez and Javier Mascherano. In this side of town prices fluctuate to one and two million.
For a second home purchase, Stiges is another interesting option for foreigners. Properties are located on the beach with amazing views, with prices between three and five million euro.
Cerdanya, on the other hand is perfect for mountain lovers, here you can find beautiful chalets with prices varying from one to two million Euro.
Along the coast of Girona, Sant Feliu de Guixols is the most expensive luxury property currently on sale at 7,500,000 euro. Large prestigious properties can be found in this area with magnificent gardens, swimming pools and many more luxury comforts.
