Actress Drew Barrymore has decided to sell her luxury villa in Montecito, California, in which her wedding to husband and art consultant, Will Kopelman took place.
Drew purchased the property in June 2010 for 5.7 million dollars, before having met her husband, now father of her child. Perhaps it is due to the birth of their child that they have decided to sell this wonderful property, in search of something bigger.
Last year the couple married in the house, with a traditional Jewish wedding. Amongst the wedding guests were Hollywood stars Cameron Diaz, Jimmy Fallon, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson.
The colonial style house was designed by architect Chester Carjola in 1937, the spacious property of 580 square meters sits on over two acres of land.
Spread over two levels, the home consists of six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a library, a dining room, wooden fireplaces in almost all of the rooms, a kitchen and breakfast bar, utility room, a garage with four parking spaces, terrace and fruit trees.
The entrance is quite spacious, perfect for inviting guests into the home. Double doors then lead into the elegant living room, with dark wooden flooring, a large fireplace, with French doors opening up onto the beautiful garden.
The rectangular shaped dining room possesses the accurate dimensions for a party space, and its grand windows provide a magnificent view of the perfectly cared for lawns. A sparkling antique crystal chandelier creates an elegant and luxurious atmosphere in the room.
A quaint glass porch connects the library to the dining room, bordering the brick terrace. The atmosphere in this space is illuminated with the generous amount of natural light achieved, which bounces off the white wooden floors and wrought-iron lamps.
The property also has an independent building for guests, on two floors, composed of a bedroom, bathroom and studio on the first floor, and a garage with two parking spaces on the ground floor. It seems that the garage has become a sort of warehouse for Drew’s husband, who has filled it with bicycles, surf boards, sofas and other furniture.
The garden is home to roses and many fruit trees, with tall trees surrounding the spacious rear lawn.
The asking price for the property is 7.5 million dollars.
