Charlie Stuart has joined Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty in the Damariscotta office as a real estate salesperson partnering with Senior Vice President Kathy Leeman. Charlie has lived on Damariscotta Lake with his wife Sarah Payne Stuart for the past 20 years. It was easy for him to fall in love with Maine, loons on the lake and the eagles above as well as the diverse population of mid coast Maine. After building a home as a vacation spot and family compound, Charlie moved permanently from Boston where he was working as a documentary filmmaker.
As an independent documentarian, Charlie wrote, produced and directed documentaries for every major television network such as Discovery, ABC, CNN, ESPN, AE, and HBO (now MAX) Real estate has always been an avocation “out of love he says, not out of necessity” and as a result, he has been involved in many deals including condominiumizing a town house in Boston, developing a former girls camp into a family compound, developing ten acres on Damariscotta Lake, owning single family and two family homes, apartments in New York City and two houses in Westchester County.

He produced and directed six half hour television shows for the MidCoast Conservancy called MIDCOAST MATTERS. And he is currently working on a documentary about the spirituality of nature.
