With the distinctive combination of expertise in both the vibrant metro Atlanta market and the stunning Lake Burton and surrounding mountain lakes region, MJ Nicholson leverages over 13 years of experience in the industry to help her clients bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be. While her Buckhead roots give her an intimate knowledge of the community unique to a native, she is also eager to share her enthusiasm for Alpharetta, the lively locale where she now owns a home. Additionally, her lifelong connection to Rabun County provides her with all the necessary tools to grant her clients unrivaled insight and access to the breathtaking mountains, beautiful lakes, and quiet lifestyle of that area. Born and raised in Buckhead, MJ attended The Lovett School before pursuing her degree at Princeton University. The South beckoned her home after college, and she returned to Georgia, where she put her literary talents to work chronicling her family’s history with The Coca-Cola Company into a memoir (a firsthand account of Coca-Cola’s evolution into an international brand told from her grandfather’s perspective), becoming a published author in her 20s. Shortly thereafter, she launched her real estate career, marketing properties in Atlanta and around Lake Burton, her home away from home since birth. Whether they are first-time homebuyers or busy CEOs, MJ believes in building long-term relationships and knows how to make every client feel valued and cared for throughout the process. While her passion lies in the luxury property sector, she is well-versed in all aspects of Georgia real estate and assists with a variety of needs, from land/acreage to local boutique commercial spaces. With a keen eye for home design and staging, she finds great joy in the creative side of real estate and loves having a hand in transforming properties to their highest potential. Outside of real estate, MJ has established a thriving Instagram presence focusing on fitness and lifestyle. When she’s not working, she cherishes her community, both at Lake Burton and in Alpharetta. She finds relaxation in music, Pilates, strength training, water sports, clean cooking and recipe creation, and spending time with her godchildren and friends.
