Description
Having bought a dream home in Monterey, CA near the ocean and beach, Julee Thomas understands what buyers go through during the process of home buying. Julee’s goal is to ensure her clients have a happy and joyful real estate experience.
Julee acquired her California real estate license and started a business to make the dreams of the community into a reality for the underserved populations in the Monterey Peninsula. She has a diverse background in the real estate industry with more than 15 years of experience in the fields of Architecture, General Construction, Construction Management, Real Estate Law, Engineering, and Facility Management. She is able to handle operational challenges from a technical and political savvy standpoint from experience managing projects for high profile clients including The White House, US Supreme Court, Dept. of State, World Trade Center/90 West Rehab, Dept. of Homeland Security, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and National Institutes of Health. As director of maintenance, engineering, and grounds for Erikson Communities in 2007, Julee oversaw operations of 13 facilities in 10 states.
Julee founded Greenescent, a women-owned small business, in 2008 to bring a green approach to all aspects of the build environment. Projects included the Department of Homeland Security office of real estate, technical consultation services at the Freedom Center (Transportation Security Operations Center), and TSA Headquarters / Customs and Border Protection facilities management and engineering department.
Prior to getting into real estate, Julee served as a United States Army Military Intelligence Officer for 10 years, obtaining the rank of Captain before completing service in 2022. In 2016, Julee deployed to the Middle East as an Intelligence contractor supporting the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command overseas and deployed to Europe as an Executive Officer with the 1st Infantry Division as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
Julee earned her Bachelor’s degree in architecture/building sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration on Project Management from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
Giving back to the community is important to Julee and she has volunteered with Big Brother/Big Sister, America Reads, ACE Mentor Program of America, Rebuilding Together, University of Maryland Adult Health and Development Program, DC Rape Crisis, American Cancer Society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the American Association of University Women.
God is first and then family and friends are a priority for Julee. In her free time, she enjoys martial arts (learned Kenpo under Ed Parker’s son and JTR Jujitsu brown belt from the late Grandmaster Dong Jin Kim), working out, painting, spiritual hikes, running marathons, singing, ballroom dancing, Argentine tango, and exploring cultural experiences through the arts.
