Description

Kathleen Killoy is both a licensed real estate professional and a licensed attorney. Originally from Acton, Massachusetts, Kathleen graduated from the Frederick Gunn School in Washington, CT before earning a degree in psychology from Brown University. She ultimately went on to earn both her JD and master’s in environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School. A lifelong skier and lover of the American West, Kathleen decided to move to Santa Fe in 2017.

Prior to relocating to Santa Fe, Kathleen practiced as a litigator in Boston for many years before moving to Nantucket Island to practice as a real estate attorney. It was there that she first realized her love of real estate and committed to someday obtaining her real estate license.

She has been a licensed associate broker since early 2018 and relishes being a part of the Santa Fe real estate community, and the community at large. Santa Fe has proven to be an incredibly warm and welcoming place for her personally, and she feels very fortunate to be in a position to work directly with those who are discovering Santa Fe for the first time, those who have called this magical place home for many years, and everyone in between.

In addition to working as a real estate professional, Kathleen obtained her New Mexico bar license in early 2020. She has been practicing law predominantly in the areas of real estate, estate planning, small business formation, and employment law since that time, and currently owns and operates a solo law practice in downtown Santa Fe, Killoy Law LLC.

While maintaining them as separate business endeavors, thus far, Kathleen’s real estate and law practices have complimented each other extremely well, as she is able to serve clients not only with respect to real estate sales, but also with the myriad needs that accompany home ownership. Understanding how real estate and property disputes arise, Kathleen approaches all transactions with an eye on anticipating and avoiding conflicts and strives to work collaboratively with all parties to mitigate any potential disputes.

Kathleen holds herself to a high standard but always with the aim of creating fluidity and efficiency around transactions or matters that may otherwise be stressful for her clients. Her highly responsive, open, and clear communication style, and her affable nature, are paramount to her ability to put her clients at ease while delivering their desired outcomes as transparently and smoothly as possible.
