Laurie Halls | Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty

141 Maine St, Brunswick, ME 04011 - 04011 Brunswick

Description

Laurie Halls was born in Maine, where her family has lived for generations. Laurie’s family, the Garrisons, were one of the only African American families living in Brunswick for many years and became well-known throughout the region. Her Uncle Earl Garrison, born in Brunswick in 1948, was killed in action in the Vietnam War and is honored at the newly erected Veterans Memorial in downtown Brunswick. Garrison Street near the Bowdoin College campus was also named in commemoration of Laurie’s Uncle Earl.

While many of the Garrisons have left the Midcoast region, Laurie is proud to continue to live in the area her family has called home. She loves the diversity of Brunswick, as well as its quaint downtown, countless award-winning restaurants, and proximity to the ocean. She enjoys visiting nearby Popham Beach, the Mitchell Field beach and trails, and hiking the Cliffs Trail in Harpswell.

Though Laurie has always had an interest in real estate, she started her career as a medical assistant in the Oncology department at Midcoast Hospital’s Parkview campus in Brunswick. She spent 14 years dedicated to helping her patients overcome their fears and the devastation of a cancer diagnosis, and nurtured a caring, empathetic, and compassionate office environment for her patients. She was the first person her oncology patients would see at the hospital, and she wanted her office to be as comfortable as possible. Her patients trusted that no matter what was going on outside of her office, good or bad, they were comfortable talking to her about what they were experiencing. Her office became a home for many of her patients.

While real estate clients are very different from oncology patients, Laurie’s exceptional customer service and listening skills apply across all industries, and she brings a professional balance of care, empathy, and compassion that benefits her buyers and sellers. She is an Associate Broker that specializes in the MidCoast area and loves to bring the story of historical homes to life. She takes special care of her clients' unique needs and wants, knowing that everyone deserves concierge level luxury service.

She is proud of her two sons' impressive professional and academic successes. Her oldest son graduated from Syracuse University with a master's degree in Arts Journalism and is currently living in Boston while working in marketing and social media. Her youngest son graduated from Husson University with a degree in Criminal Justice.

In addition to hiking local trails and exploring Maine’s quaint coastal towns, Laurie enjoys a sophisticated beverage, antiquing and staging homes. She enjoys showing her clients the joys of the Maine lifestyle throughout the Midcoast region and beyond.
