Description

The land surrounding Charlottesville has woven itself into generations of Summers family culture and tradition. Beginning in the 50’s when Jordan’s great grandfather, William Faulkner, was UVA’s first writer in residence, Charlottesville’s charm and bucolic setting solidified what would be her upbringing in Albemarle County.

Born into an avid equestrian family, she grew up on a horse farm and spent her youth fox hunting across vast expanses of Farmington and Keswick Hunt Club territory. While in middle school, Jordan’s father planted the first grape vines that would become her family’s local vineyard and Tasting Room, Knight’s Gambit Vineyard. At a young age she was educated on the evolution of land use and the transformative possibilities that exist in an ecologically gifted area such as Albemarle County. Upon graduating UVA with a B.A. in Global Development, Jordan decided it was time to expand her horizons and moved to Berlin, Germany where she co-founded a hybrid boutique fitness studio, vegan cafe, co-working space. She has since returned to the Charlottesville area to head up sales and marketing at Knight’s Gambit while she dives into her career in real estate.
