Description
Margaret (Meg) Smith has more than 30 years of experience as a real estate professional. She graduated with honors as an Education Major and Spanish Minor from Purdue University. In 1984, she opened Kidnastics, a preschool in Babylon Village, NY. While looking to expand this business, she became interested in Real Estate. In 1987, she sold her preschool, and her real estate career began. In 2010 she started her own brokerage, Meg Smith and Associates Real Estate, which was acquired by Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty in February 2022.
Meg’s mission as a Realtor is giving back to the communities in which she serves. She has been a Bay Shore Lion for over 10 years, and is an outspoken advocate for the Morgan Center, a preschool for children with cancer, as well as the EJ Autism Foundation. In 2018, the Long Island Board of Realtors honored Meg with the Spirit Award for community involvement. She also has a passion for educating and mentoring others and created an internship program for the Future Business Leaders of America Club at Bay Shore High School.
Meg’s years of experience as a Director for the Suffolk South Shore Long Island Board of Realtors and a Director for the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island gives her incredible knowledge and unique insight into the field of real estate. She earned her CRB (Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers) which sets the industry standard for innovative brokerage management resources. She also earned her SRS (Seller Representative Specialist) and Cirec (Commercial and Investment Real Estate Certified), adding to her real estate expertise. She has appeared on CBS 2's Living Large for several luxury homes that she has listed, is consistently quoted in Newsday for market trends, and has been featured on podcasts like Extraordinary Excellence.
Through intense listening and honest guidance, Meg's hands-on business approach has earned her enthusiastic referrals and repeat business. A long time Bay Shore resident, Meg thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to show potential homebuyers all that the South Shore of Long Island has to offer. She is dedicated to guiding her clients through the process of buying or selling their home and firmly believes in making long lasting connections with the people with whom she works. Meg is also mother to two adult children she adores, is an avid collector of beach glass and ribbons, a coffee and cocktail connoisseur, and an enthusiastic traveler, gardener, and photographer.
