Description

Jen Chiarappa has always been both outgoing and empathetic—two qualities that serve her well as a real estate professional in one of Colorado’s most popular resort towns. Her ability to make connections with people is integral to her success as a Broker Associate working in the bustling Breckenridge office. “I’m approachable and fun-loving, but I also have a serious side. The connections I make in the community lead to trust, and my clients know that I want to find them the right house where they can build memories.” Thriving in a fast-paced environment, Jen brings a sense of joy along with in-depth market knowledge and three years of contract expertise to her client interactions. “Since Breckenridge is a secondary market, people don’t always know the area well. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is helping clients find the right fit, whether it’s Breck or elsewhere in Summit County,” she says. “This region is unique and many of the houses have a history and architectural story that is fascinating and speaks to certain buyers. It’s an honor to be part of that.” On the flip side, she understands that not every move or sale is made under positive circumstances. In those instances, Jen finds that her empathetic nature helps guide clients to a smooth and stress-free transaction. Originally from Akron, Ohio, Jen earned her bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and Business Administration at Ohio University before taking a managerial position at Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Later, she landed a job as an assistant at a real estate company and was immediately exposed to writing and explaining contracts, transactions and negotiations. She soon earned her real estate license and began building a client base, which led her to achieve accolades at her previous company. Though she always had an interest in travel and tourism, Jen had never visited Colorado until she moved to Summit County on a whim in 2013. “I'm the first person in my family to move away from home, so it's exciting to show what I’ve built for myself and to share my community when they come to visit.” That same pioneer spirit is inherent in most who choose to call Breckenridge home, a sentiment that Jen understands firsthand. “The motto here is ‘Work hard, play harder,’” she says, adding that she loves the weather in Breckenridge and always gets excited for the new activities each season brings, whether it’s downhill or backcountry skiing, golf, or her favorite hobby—rock climbing. When she’s not negotiating contracts or showing properties, Jen can be found scaling walls all over Colorado and neighboring states.

Description

Breckenridge embodies the stunning beauty and laid back atmosphere of living in a Colorado ski town. Known not only for its world-class skiing, but also for its friendly laid-back character, Breckenridge is a place where quaint Victorian bungalows dot Main Street and visitors and residents enjoy shopping, dining, concerts, and outdoor activities year-round. The town offers an approachable, vibrant charm in every season. Neighboring ski towns including Keystone, Copper and Frisco offer year-round recreation with close proximity to Denver.
As Colorado's largest historic district, Breckenridge is a visual collage of Victorian gingerbread, old stone buildings and miner's cabins, surrounded by stunning peaks and the glitz of a big mountain ski resort. Founded in 1859 when gold was discovered along the Blue River, the town of Breckenridge continued to prosper long after the gold and silver played out. With the opening of Breckenridge Ski Resort in 1961, vibrant new economic life melded with the area's rich history to create the celebrated town that visitors and residents enjoy today. In winter, Breckenridge draws skiers from around the world to its famous vast and varied terrain. The resort and the town are equally popular in summer when visitors enjoy endless options for outdoor adventure, as well as the town's one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, spas, museums, and wildly popular outdoor festivals. Breckenridge is located in Summit County, about an hour's drive west of Denver. Boasting close proximity to three major ski areas (Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone), vast expanses of public land and several mountain ranges, it is no surprise that Summit County is known as "Colorado's Playground."
