417 Park St, Charlottesville, VA 22902 - 22902 Charlottesville

Description

Maurice Covington attended the University of Virginia, lettering in football as a Wide Receiver, and earning his B.A. in 2009. Following graduation, he spent time with the Chicago Bears and New York Giants before suffering injuries which would ultimately end his playing career. He began life after football by earning his M.S. in Sports Management from Louisiana State University. While at LSU, Maurice spent three years working directly with the football program advising student athletes on major selection and helping them prepare for life after football.
Maurice then went on to accept a position at his alma mater as an Academic Advisor in the UVA Athletic Academic Department. During Maurice’s time at UVA, he passionately helped hundreds of student-athletes navigate their way through the rigors of college, advised them on course/major selection, and helped them develop critical life skills needed for long term success.
Additionally, he worked with dozens of professional athletes who returned to the program desperately seeking career and financial guidance. He developed a passion for educating these young men on how to use their platform to network, invest, and create business opportunities that would sustain them long after their playing days.
In the summer of 2016, Maurice joined the investment world as a financial consultant with “REDE Wealth” in Charlottesville, VA. His clientele consisted of professional athletes, coaches, and entrepreneurs. He showed a passion for educating his clients on proper money management and exploring ways to create long-term wealth. He worked individually with each client helping them save, create realistic budgets, make smart financial decisions, start businesses, and invest for the future.
Maurice left the investment world behind in early 2019 to go into business for himself. He founded “Covington Sports” now formally known as “Covington Consulting.” Using his financial knowledge and business experience he dedicated his time to helping professional athletes and young entrepreneurs build and enhance their businesses and “Turn their passion into Profit” as he likes to call it! Over the last decade Maurice has been fortunate enough to work with athletes, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and aspiring entertainers. Through this experience he has overseen the creation and management of new businesses, negotiated and brokered dozens of business deals, and has been a key match maker in many business partnerships. Maurice is known to be a true go getter, and prides himself on being able to make the “right” deal happen.
Over the years, Maurice has always educated his clients on the importance of real-estate as an investment. As a real-estate investor himself, he truly understands that real estate is key to building long term wealth. As a Realtor, Maurice hopes to use his broad network and knowledge of finance, business, and real estate to educate and help clients make some of the biggest decisions of their life. A decision that will not only create generational wealth for buyers and their families, but that will also fulfill their dreams of homeownership.
