Description
Following completion of an MA in Property Valuation and Law in 2002, Glen commenced his real estate career with Colliers International (London). Over the coming two years he became professionally qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Soon after, Glen went on to specialise in residential and mixed-use development consultancy. He helped establish a new residential development team within Colliers, growing it to 18 people throughout the United Kingdom. As an Associate Director, he consulted on, acquired and disposed of, property opportunities with values ranging from NZ$2m - $350m. His role included; sourcing opportunities, undertaking market research and analysis, feasibility studies, marketing strategies, planning law, affordable housing, highest and best use scenarios, price point, unit type, size, mix and layout, developer selection and heads of terms negotiation.
Having worked in property consultancy in both London and San Francisco, he then went on to work ‘client side’ development. Prior to returning to New Zealand, Glen was Land Director (Head of Department) within the Berkeley Group Plc, a FTSE 100 property development company. He oversaw all acquisitions, due diligence, planning consents, masterplan, design - unit type and ratio, layout and proportion, commercial leasing and sales, as well as staff recruitment and training.
Some of his key successes included; Goodman’s Fields (E1) and acquiring, then securing planning consent for Trent Park (EN4). He was also part of the successful team associated to the world renowned architects Foster + Partners designed 250 City Road (EC1) project and the 5,500 home regeneration scheme at Woodberry Down (N4).
He is the father of two little girls and has interests in anything sports related. He particularly enjoys cricket, rugby, and travelling, spending time with family and to getting to the gym, if time ever allows.
