Agency Sotheby's International Realty Canada

Description

When Martinus was 8 years old, he told his parents that he wanted to become a real estate agent. It all started when his father got a job offer in a different city, and the employer sent over a copy of the real estate section from the local newspaper. Martinus spent days poring over the pages, comparing the locations, features, and values of the homes until he found the best house for his family. His father declined the job, and the family didn't end up moving or buying the house. But Martinus did become a REALTOR®. Today, he is living his dream.

Martinus has been heavily engaged in the real estate market in various professional roles for 16 years. He owned and operated a marketing agency that worked intimately with a wide variety of real estate clients to brand, launch, and sell a variety of residential and commercial developments. His agency also operated the Hamilton 24-Hour Film Festival, the Novemburger burger festival, and grew to publish several specialty print publications and digital properties, and operate an indoor billboard network. After selling the business, Martinus successfully tackled a variety of personal real estate projects in Hamilton. As a hobby, Martinus operated educational bus tours of various cities. In fact, he has led over 275 people on tours of Hamilton, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Minneapolis, and Detroit. Martinus also served as a marketing and communications executive for a major Ontario financial institution before resigning from corporate life to pursue his love of real estate as a licensed agent. His skills and experience in marketing, construction, finance, and community development have helped him build a vibrant and growing real estate practice.

Martinus loves cities, architecture, the creative arts, and his community. When he isn't showing properties or spending quality time with his wife and two children, he enjoys exploring new cities, running increasing distances, reading thick non-fiction books, and solving the world's problems with friends.

With the support of his team (Martinus & Associates) he has become one of the leading agents in the Hamilton area, working with clients locally, nationally, and internationally to trade residential and commercial real estate in the Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara areas.

Offering a glimpse at the city’s finest, homes in Ancaster Village blend historical architecture with lush nature. This pocket of the city boasts beautiful properties, vast green spaces, and is home to the Ancaster Mill – the perfect setting for special occasion celebrations.

A short zip north of Ancaster leads to Dundas. Dubbed “Valley Town” in honour of its place at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment, this community serves stunning views of its natural surroundings, including several of the city’s waterfalls. East of the escarpment, Stoney Creek and Winona offer shopping and dining paired with outdoorsy beauty, including must-see attractions like the Devil’s Punchbowl and Felker’s Falls. History buffs will be excited to explore the Battlefield House Museum and Park National Historic Site, after which they can head to Mount Hope for more historical immersion at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

Home to world-class post-secondary institutions including McMaster University and Mohawk College, Hamilton is positioned for health within its well-established professional realms. The city’s history in manufacturing laid a solid foundation for the tech-forward, innovative workforce opportunities in Hamilton today, which include: agribusiness and food processing; finance, insurance, and real estate; life sciences; tourism; and goods movement.
