Description

Marty Welsh has garnered over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry beginning with Ryland Homes in 1985 where he held various positions spanning production and management for new residential building projects. Shortly thereafter, Marty kicked-off a real estate investment career; using his construction experience and in-depth appreciation for the process. Marty's extensive real estate experience and knowledge provide him with a unique advantage to re-envision a space, no matter the condition, as well as to understand the unique aspects that go with being a first-time home buyer, a repeat home buyer, an investor, a renter, and a seller. This perspective allows him to understand his clients' needs and wants, to show his clients how to transform a house into a home, and to focus on the key elements of the real estate transaction process. Of the utmost importance to Marty is that he provides an exceptional and seamless client experience, taking care of all of the details so that his clients are completely satisfied with his services. The greatest complement Marty receives from his clients is in the form of a referral, when his clients share their experience in working with him to their friends and family. With his relational business style, 80% of Marty's business is generated from former clients and their referrals. This is a testament to Marty's service mindset with his client's best interests at heart. From homebuyer, investor, landlord, seller, and property manager; to rehabilitating 100+ homes and buildings, partnering in land acquisition, development, subdivision, home design, along with building and home improvement and contracting and renovations, Marty has done the work and shares his many lessons and experiences with his clients. Additionally, Marty is well-versed in the “distressed” real estate market, having brokered 300+ transactions involving foreclosure, bankruptcy, REO, or bank-owned sales, HUD and VA sales, as well as estate and probate sales. A native Marylander and long-time Howard County resident, Marty grew up on a historic farm in Ellicott City. He attended Loyola High School where he played lacrosse and football. He continued his athletic career playing both sports at Swarthmore College, where he majored in Economics and met his wife. They have three adult children and reside in Columbia, Maryland. Outside of work, you will find Marty spending time with his family and friends, whether at home or in Ocean City, MD. Gardening, cooking, and making bonfires are a few of his favorite hobbies. An avid sports enthusiast, he coordinates annual weekends with his friends to attend the ACC Basketball Tournament, NCAA Lacrosse Tournament, and Thanksgiving Paintball. Marty is excited to serve his clients throughout the process of buying and selling and wherever that journey may lead.
