One of the most successful residential real estate professionals in New York, Caroline Guthrie began her career working with Edward Lee Cave, the founding chairman of Sotheby’s International Realty, and has been in the business for more than 25 years. She is known for her professionalism, carefully honed expertise, and outstanding communication skills.


Caroline’s extensive knowledge of the sales process for co-ops, condominiums, and townhouses ensures that every transaction is expertly guided to a successful conclusion and that each client’s goals are achieved. She set the record for the highest co-op sale in 2016 and has sold homes in most of the city’s most prestigious buildings with a particular focus on the grand pre-war co-ops of Fifth and Park Avenues, Central Park West, and the legendary East River buildings; River House, One Sutton Place South, One Beekman, and 10 Gracie Square where she has a wealth of knowledge and experience.


Recognized for her empathy, integrity, and discretion, Caroline instantly puts her clients at ease and gives them the confidence that she will look out for their best interests. Her meticulously professional approach includes providing information and guidance through every step of the sales process whilst ensuring transparency and offering creative solutions to issues that may crop up along the way. Caroline maintains strong relationships throughout the brokerage community and is respected by clients and colleagues alike.


Caroline attended Oxford University where she achieved a BA(Hons) and her designation as MA(Oxon). She lives in Carnegie Hill with her husband and three children and supports the Hudson River Valley Writer’s Center, the New York City Ballet, the Central Park Conservancy, and various schools, including her alma mater. A photographer and aspiring artist, she enjoys traveling and spending summers in Maine, where she can usually be found on the water.
