Originally from Marblehead, Massachusetts, Jim Berk brings over 45 years of real estate experience to Premier Sotheby's International Realty. Armed with an extensive and diverse combination of business acumen, as well as a 20-year career as a CEO in the distribution of plumbing and heating supplies in New England and nationally, he has been a licensed real estate broker in Massachusetts for 45 years and in Florida for 18 years.
Jim supervised over $15,000,000 in construction projects as a developer in Old Naples and Twin Eagles in 2005. He has been the director of sales at the Peninsula at Treviso Bay since its inception in 2017, a $140 million luxury lakefront custom golf home development. As director of sales, Jim has been involved for over five years since the project conception, land acquisition and then new home sales. His leadership led to a successful sellout of these 54 custom lakefront golf course homes on the Treviso Bay TPC course located only 5 miles from downtown Old Naples, one year ahead of projections.
In New England, he served on various club and civic boards including two terms as president of the local chamber of commerce. Having lived most of his life in his hometown of Marblehead, he brings a love of the water and boating to Naples. Jim held a USCG 50-ton Captain's License and Merchant Mariner Credential. He is also a member of the Naples Area Board of REALTORS®, the Florida Association of REALTORS®, the National Association of REALTORS® and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of real estate, in Massachusetts he was a founder and chairman of the Lynn Business Partnership, founder and co-chair of the Lynnway Business Association and president of the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce. Jim also served on the board of directors for Lynn Arts Inc., the executive committee for Marblehead Sail & Power Squadron and was a past house committee chairman for the Boston Yacht Club. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.
